Megill has posted a solid ERA of 3.89, a 1.37 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts over 41.2 innings this year. In 35 relief appearances, he owns a 4-3 record.
The twenty-eight year old is in his second MLB season, having played with the Chicago Cubs in the 2021 season, posting an 8.37 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 30 strikeouts over 23 innings.

Megill should return fairly soon. The Twins hold a 72-72 record, eight games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for the third AL Wild Card spot, so it's safe to assume they're out of playoff contention.
