Toronto Blue Jays Option Pitcher

Earlier this month, the Toronto Blue Jays called up Casey Lawrence to their major league roster. Now, he is heading back to Triple-A, however, as he has been optioned by the club.

With the Blue Jays, the 34-year-old appeared in five games, where he put together a 0-1 record and 8.04 ERA. When looking at these stats, it is clear he struggled, so perhaps this demotion is one that we could have seen coming.

Luckily for Lawrence, he remains on their 40-man roster. Due to this, he could still receive another call-up before the regular season is over with ease. If he impresses back down in Buffalo from here, perhaps he will get another chance with the club. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front.
