Toronto Blue Jays Designate Catcher For Assignment
The Toronto Blue Jays have designated Zack Collins for assignment.
Collins has been utilized as a backup catcher by the Blue Jays this season. In 26 games for the major league squad, he has four home runs, 10 RBIs, and a low .194 batting average. When looking at his struggles at the plate, perhaps this is a move that fans could have seen coming.
With this development, Collins will now be hitting the waiver wire. Teams in need of some catching depth could elect to take a chance on him from here.
In 140 games over his four-year MLB career, Collins has 11 home runs, 48 RBIs, and a .195 batting average.
