Toronto Blue Jays Call Up Infielder

With Santiago Espinal being placed on the injured list, the Toronto Blue Jays had a roster spot open to make a call-up. As a result, Otto Lopez has been called up to the major league squad. 

Lopez has five games of MLB experience on his resume, so he will be aiming to take advantage of this call-up. The 23-year-old should come in handy, as he can several different positions. As a result, he could see himself getting a decent amount of playing time while with Toronto. 

During those five games, Lopez has had just one at-bat, where he struck out. Here's to hoping that he has more chances at the plate from here, as if he succeeds, it could be what allows him to stick around with the Blue Jays even when Espinal returns.
