Toronto Blue Jays Place Infielder On Injured List

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed Santiago Espinal on the 10-day injured list due to an oblique injury.

Espinal has had a nice breakout season for the Blue Jays, as he made his first All-Star Game and has been a solid part of their offense. In 135 games, he has seven home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .267 batting average. Not having him around when they aim to clinch a playoff spot is not ideal, but they will be hoping for this to be a short-term injury.

We will need to wait and see how long Espinal needs to sit out, but here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery and is back in time for fall baseball.
