Texas Rangers Officially Release Veteran Pitcher
After being designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers, Dallas Keuchel's with the team was expected to be over. Yet, the veteran had to be placed on waivers first, and now he has cleared them. As a result, the Rangers have officially released him.
Ultimately, this decision by the Rangers is an easy one to understand. Keuchel was unable to rebound from his disastrous 2022 season as Ranger and made it worse. The truth is in his statistics in Texas. In two starts with the team, he allowed a horrible 14 earned runs in just 10.0 innings pitched. With that, he, predictably, had a 0-2 record.
Keuchel, who was once an All-Star and Cy Young Award winner, just has not had the stuff this season. In 14 starts between the Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Rangers, he has a 2-9 record and 9.20 ERA. Let's see if a fourth team gives him a try this season from here.
