Texas Rangers Designate Pitcher For Assignment
The Texas Rangers have designated Kohei Arihara for assignment.
When looking at Arihara's stats with the Rangers this season, perhaps this is a move that we could have been predicted. In five appearances for the Rangers on the year, he has a 1-3 record to go along with a disastrous 9.45 ERA. That simply isn't enough to cut it, and now he is off of the Rangers' 40-man roster as a result of it.
With Arihara being DFA'd, he is set to hit the waiver wire, where teams around the league can claim him. Yet, when noting that he has struggled in each of his two MLB seasons thus far, it seems likely that he will pass through them.
In 15 career games, all with the Rangers, Arihara sports a 3-7 record and 7.57 ERA.
