Texas Rangers Call Up Infielder
The Texas Rangers have called up Josh Smith to their major league roster.
Smith is certainly a familiar face to the Rangers, as he has already played in 50 games for them this season. During them, he has one home run, 12 RBIs, and a .218 batting average. Overall, it is fair to say that he has not taken the world by storm in the majors, but now he is getting a chance to help change that with this call-up.
At the Triple-A level, Smith has done quite well with Round Rock, however. In 55 games on the year, he has six home runs, 45 RBIs, and a .290 batting average. He will now be aiming to translate over this kind of success to the Rangers from here. Let's see if he can do just that.
