Tampa Bay Rays Pitcher To Miss 2023 Season
The Tampa Bay Rays have been dealt some very bad news. Shane Baz is set to have Tommy John Surgery and that means he will the entirety of the 2023 season.
Baz only appeared in six games for the Rays this season, where he had a 1-2 record to go along with a 5.00 ERA. Last season, there was a ton of excitement surrounding him, as he had a 2-0 record and 2.03 ERA in three starts as a rookie. Now, the promising youngster won't pitch in a major league game until 2024, and that is just horrible news.
The Rays and Baz will be hoping that he can recover quickly, but given how long it takes to get 100% after Tommy John surgery, that is unlikely to occur.
