Tampa Bay Rays Pitcher Done For Season
While speaking with reporters, Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash announced that J.P. Feyereisen is once again dealing with shoulder pain, and it's "highly unlikely" that he will return this season.
Feyereisen was slowly making progress, and a return this season seemed possible. However, due to this setback, that, unfortunately, will not be coming to fruition. It certainly is rough to hear, as the Rays are making a push to take over the first-place spot from the struggling New York Yankees. Having Feyereisen back for that would have been quite helpful.
Feyereisen was on the verge of having an All-Star season before suffering his injury in June. In 22 games on the year, he did not allow a single earned run and struck out 25 batters. Having that kind of stability in the bullpen would have been massive for the Rays, but alas, they will be without him for the rest of the year.
