Tampa Bay Rays Designate Infielder For Assignment
The Tampa Bay Rays are making a change to their 40-man roster, as Yu Chang has been designated for assignment.
Chang is no stranger to this situation, as he has played with the Cleveland Guardians, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Rays this season alone. In 58 games split between the three teams, he has four home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .216 batting average. Yet, he has had his most success a Ray this campaign, which his three home runs and .260 batting average show effectively. However, that was not enough for him to stick around.
Chang will now be hitting the waiver wire, and it will be interesting to see if another team elects to take a flyer on him. Due to his solid stretch of play in Tampa, it certainly seems possible.
