St. Louis Cardinals Pitcher Sent Down To Triple-A
The St. Louis Cardinals have optioned James Naile to Triple-A Memphis.
This is rough to see, as Naile was just called up to the Cardinals for the first time earlier this month. In seven games with the major league squad, he had a 0-0 record to go along with a 5.00 ERA. Overall, it is fair to argue that he did not take the world by storm during his call-up, so this demotion is one that fans likely could have seen coming.
Yet, things are not as bad as they could be for Naile. He is still on their 40-man roster, so the Cardinals can call up with ease before the season is over if they wish to. As a result, he will be aiming to impress back in Memphis in hopes of getting called up again from here.
