St. Louis Cardinals Outfielder Placed On Injured List
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed Dylan Carlson on the 10-day injured list due to a left thumb sprain.
Carlson has been utilized quite often by the Cardinals this season, so his absence will be noticeable. In 112 games on the year, he has eight home runs, 39 RBIs, and a .240 batting average. Although he hasn't replicated his 18-home run campaign from last season, he has still been effective, so the Cardinals are not going to be thrilled that he has to miss time.
Thankfully, the Cardinals have a commanding 9.5-game division lead over the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL Central, so Carlson's absence shouldn't hurt their playoff hopes by any stretch of the imagination. Still, here's to hoping that he can be good to go before the season is over.
