Flores was set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but this contract has now changed things on that front. The 30-year-old will now be remaining with the Giants, and that is certainly good news for both the player and team.
Flores has had another solid year for the Giants, so it makes sense that they are keeping him around. For the second-straight campaign, he has hit 18 home runs and also has a career-high 65 RBIs. His batting average is a bit lower than usual (.235), however, but his power numbers make up for that.
Nevertheless, the Giants now have one of their pending UFAs crossed off the list. Let's see what other moves they make from here.
