San Francisco Giants Pitcher Placed On Injured List

The San Francisco Giants will be without Dominic Leone for the next two weeks at least, as he has been placed on the 15-day injured by the club.

This isn't the best news, as the Giants use Leone quite often from the bullpen. In 55 games this season, he has a 4-5 record to go along with a 4.01 ERA. Although he has not replicated his excellent 1.51-ERA campaign from last season, he still is somebody who can work well when called upon, so his absence will be noticeable.

At this point of the season, the Giants have a 65-73 record and are essentially out of the playoff race. Thus, Leone's absence is not the end of the world, but you never like to see a key part of the bullpen have to miss time.
