San Francisco Giants Infielder Elects Free Agency
After clearing waivers, Jose Rojas has rejected an outright assignment by the San Francisco Giants and instead will test the free-agent market.
Rojas had the freedom to elect free agency because he was previously outrighted during his career. Thus, instead of remaining as a part of the Giants' depth, he will be looking to see if he can find a better opportunity elsewhere.
Rojas has played in 22 major league games this season, but that was when he was a member of the Los Angeles Angels. During them, he went 7-for-56 at the plate, which equates to a .125 batting average. Yes, he struggled when called up, but let's see if another team is willing to sign him due to his versatility.
