San Francisco Giants Designate Infielder For Assignment
The San Francisco Giants have designated Jose Rojas for assignment.
This DFA occurred due to the Giants claiming Taylor Jones off of waivers from the Houston Astros. The Giants needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster and that, unfortunately, made Rojas expendable. Now, he is heading right back to the waiver wire, just two weeks after the Giants claimed him from the Los Angeles Angels in that very manner.
Rojas never made an appearance at the major league level for the Giants during his brief stint with the organization. He did, however, play in 22 games as an Angel this campaign, where he had zero home runs, one RBI, and a .188 batting average. Teams in need of some depth could consider taking a flyer on him, as he can play several positions (right field, third base, & second base).
