San Francisco Giants Catcher Clears Waivers
Earlier this week, the San Francisco Giants designated Andrew Knapp for assignment. Due to this, he hit the waiver wire, but he has now since cleared it. With this, the club has assigned him to Triple-A Sacramento.
Although Knapp has cleared waivers, there is still no guarantee that he will remain with the organization. Due to his MLB experience, he is eligible to reject the Giants' assignment and elect free agency instead. This is something that baseball fans will need to pay attention to from here.
Knapp has been on the move often this season, as he has spent time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, and Giants. The possibility of him signing with a fourth team is now present, so let's see if the 30-year-old tests his luck on the open market or just accepts the demotion to Triple-A.
