San Francisco Giants Call Up Pitcher
The San Francisco Giants have called up Sean Hjelle to their major league roster.
Immediately following his call-up, Hjelle started for the Giants against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. Overall, he certainly did well, as he only allowed one run on three hits in 5.0 innings pitched. After an outing like this, the Giants should consider keeping the 6-foot-11 giant on their roster for at least another start.
Hjelle now has appeared in four games for the Giants this campaign, where he has a 0-1 record to go along with a 5.73 ERA. Although those numbers do not look the greatest, Thursday's appearance did help lower his ERA. If he can continue to put together performances like that, his numbers will be a lot better. Let's see if he gets the chance to improve them from here.
