San Diego Padres Catcher Set To Return

The San Diego Padres are getting a boost, as Jorge Alfaro has been activated off of the injured list.

Alfaro has had a pretty decent season in 2022, so the Padres will be happy to have him back as they aim to cement themselves a playoff spot. In 72 games on the year, he has seven home runs, 36 RBIs, and a .252 batting average. Although he hasn't been dominant at the plate, it is clear that he is capable of providing some offense.

At the time of this writing, the Padres hold the final Wild Card in the National League but only by a slim margin. The Milwaukee Brewers are inching closer to them, as they are only two games behind. Thus, the Padres need to be as healthy as possible, and things are taking a step in the right direction on that front with Alfaro returning.
