Steer is a former third-round pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2019 MLB Draft.
This season, between the Double-A and Triple-A level, the twenty-four-year-old has slashed .259/.354/.479, with 15 home runs, 45 RBIs and 53 runs scored over 71 games.
The Reds will get him into some major league games down the stretch here, but without the team competing for a playoff position, there won't be a lot of pressure on him to make much of an impact.
