Pittsburgh Pirates Claim Pitcher Off Waivers
The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed Peter Solomon off of waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.
Solomon's journey with the Pirates will begin with him in Triple-A Indianapolis. Thankfully for him, he is joining the club on their 40-man roster, however, so that could result in him getting a call-up before the season is over. Yet, he will need to impress in Indianapolis for that to have any chance of coming to fruition.
Solomon will be aiming to make his season debut for the Pirates from here. Over his career, he has made six appearances at the major league level, all with the Houston Astros during the 2021 season. He was quite effective when called upon, too, as he sported a solid 1.29 ERA. Let's see if that past success can be enough to land him a call-up before the season is completed.
Overall, there's no harm in the Pirates giving Solomon a chance. Let's see how this decision pays off.
