Pittsburgh Pirates Catcher Placed On Concussion IL

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Tyler Heineman on the seven-day concussion injured list.

With the season essentially at the finish line, there's a good chance that we may not see Heineman return this campaign. Given the fact that he is dealing with a head injury, he absolutely cannot be rushed back. Furthermore, the Pirates are completely out of the playoff picture, so there's no reason for the catcher to risk further injury.

In 59 games this season split between the Toronto Blue Jays and Pirates, Heineman has zero home runs, nine RBIs, and a .227 batting average.
