Philadelphia Phillies Claim Pitcher From San Diego Padres
The Philadelphia Phillies have added to their pitching depth, as they have claimed Tayler Scott from the San Diego Padres.
Scott was recently designated for assignment by the Padres, but he now has found a new home with the Phillies. Yet, it's important to note that he will not be beginning his tenure with the team in the majors, as Philadelphia has opted to send him down to Triple-A. Yet, he remains on their 40-man roster, so a call-up could certainly occur before the season is over.
With the Padres this season, Scott appeared in eight games, where he had a 0-1 record and 6.75 ERA. It's fair to say he struggled in the majors when called up, but he also had a solid 3.76 ERA in 33 Triple-A games. This is likely why the Phillies have decided to take a flyer on the 30-year-old. Let's see if it ends up being a move that pays off.
