Philadelphia Phillies Call Up Outfielder
With Nick Castellanos being placed on the injured list, the Philadelphia Phillies had a roster spot available to bring another player up. Due to this, Dalton Guthrie is getting a shot with the major league club.
This is certainly exciting news, as it means that Guthrie is set to make his major league debut. The outfielder has been in the Phillies' system since 2017, and he has now earned himself his first call-up in 2022. Naturally, all eyes will be on him because of this.
Guthrie has played quite well in Triple-A Lehigh Valley this campaign, so he will be aiming to translate his success over to the majors from here. In 92 games on the year, he has 10 home runs, 52 RBIs, and an impressive .302 batting average. If he can hit like this at the major league level, don't be surprised if he sticks around.
