Orioles Recall Starter
The Baltimore Orioles had a vacant rotation spot to fill.
As a result, the club has recalled pitcher Spenser Watkins from Triple-A Norfolk.

With Tyler Wells heading to the injured list, Watkins will take his spot in the rotation for the remainder of the regular season.
The thirty-year-old has registered a 4.37 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts across 94.2 innings in the majors this season. He's started 19 games, made one relief appearance, and holds a 4-6 record.

In the minors, he's thrown a strong 2.84 ERA over 12.2 innings this season. Watkins is a former 30th-round pick of the Detroit Tigers in the 2014 MLB Draft.
