Oakland Athletics Pitcher Placed On Injured List

Joel Payamps' 2022 season is likely over, as the righty has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a lumbar strain.

With the A's out of the playoff race entirely, Payamps' injury does not make an impact in that regard. However, since joining the A's from the Kansas City Royals, he has been one of Oakland's most solid relievers. In 41 games combined between the two clubs on the year, he has a 3-6 record but also a solid 3.23 ERA.

Here's to hoping that Payamps has a speedy recovery and will be 100% once the 2023 campaign rolls around.
