Oakland Athletics Pitcher Clears Waivers

Earlier this week, the Oakland Athletics designated Brent Honeywell for assignment. Now, the 27-year-old has since cleared them and has been outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas as a result.

Honeywell has been on the 60-day injured list and has appeared in just eight games this season split between Double-A and Triple-A. During them, he has a 0-2 record to go along with an 8.49 ERA. Now, he will be aiming to improve those numbers and end the year on a high note.

With Honeywell removed from the Athletics' 40-man roster, there's a good chance that we won't see him in the majors before the season is over. However, if he leaves a good impression from here, maybe he can find himself on Oakland's 40-man roster next season.
