Oakland Athletics Claim Infielder Off Waivers

The Oakland Athletics are adding to their infield depth before the 2022 season is over, as they have claimed Ernie Clement off waivers from the Cleveland Guardians.

Clement was designated for assignment earlier this week by Cleveland, but he has now found a new home with Oakland. The 26-year-old has played in 63 games this season, where he has zero home runs, six RBIs, and a .200 batting average. Overall, it hasn't been the best of seasons for him, but he is serviceable when it comes to depth.

Clement is quite versatile, too, as he can play third base, second base, and the outfield. Therefore, the A's can use him in several situations, so that should come in handy for them.
