New York Yankees Place Pitcher On Injured List
The New York Yankees have placed Frankie Montas on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation.
This development isn't surprising, as it was previously announced that he was dealing with discomfort in his shoulder. Yet, his MRI results turned out not to be too serious, so the Yankees are aiming for him to make one last start after this stint on the IL is over.
Montas will be hoping for the chance to redeem himself, as he has struggled immensely since being traded to the Yankees. After having an excellent 3.18 ERA in 19 appearances for the Oakland Athletics this season, he currently sports a 1-3 record and 6.35 ERA in eight starts with the Yankees. Needless to say, he has not lived up to expectations in the slightest.
Here's to hoping that Montas can have a speedy recovery and get right back on the mound once he's off the IL.
