New York Yankees Pitcher Clears Waivers
For now, Luke Bard will be staying with the New York Yankees, as he has cleared waivers. However, due to the fact that he has been outrighted during his career before, he has the option to elect free agency instead of accepting an assignment to Triple-A.
Bard has appeared in just one game for the Yankees this season, where he threw a scoreless inning. Overall, he did what was asked of him when called upon, but it was not enough to restrict him from being designated for assignment.
Bard also appeared in eight games for the Tampa Bay Rays this season, where he had a solid 1.93 ERA. Overall, he has done well in the majors this season but just hasn't been able to stick around. Thus, he may look for an opportunity elsewhere.
Nevertheless, we will need to see what happens with Bard from here.
