New York Yankees Outright Pitcher
Earlier this week, the New York Yankees designated Anthony Banda for assignment. Now, the 28-year-old has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Yet, the Yankees aren't completely out of the woods, as Banda has the opportunity to elect free agency if he wishes to. This is because he has been outrighted before during his career. Now, we will have to wait and see what Banda decides to do from here.

Banda has been on the move a lot this season, as he has spent time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, and of course, the Yankees. In 32 games on the year, he has a 1-1 record to go along with a 6.75 ERA. It will be intriguing to see if Banda tests his luck on the free-agent market or accepts the assignment.
