New York Yankees First Baseman Placed On Injured List

The New York Yankees will be without Anthony Rizzo for at least the next week and a half, as the veteran first baseman has been placed on the 10-day injured list.

Rizzo has been dealing with back problems, and the team is hoping that some rest will help him feel refreshed before the playoffs. However, this is certainly a notable blow at the same time, as the Yankees have been playing some horrendous baseball and will be without one of their top power hitters.

Rizzo has had a lot of success when it comes to hitting for power this season, as he has 30 home runs and 71 RBIs in 117 games played. However, he also has had trouble making contact, as he sports a fairly low .225 batting average. Still, his power will certainly be missed, so here's to hoping that he is good to go once this stint on the IL is over.
