New York Yankees Designate Pitcher For Assignment
The New York Yankees have designated Ryan Weber for assignment.
This is familiar territory for Weber, as he has been DFA'd by the Yankees several times this season. Now, he has been removed from their 40-man roster again and will be hitting the waiver wire because of it. Teams in need of some pitching depth could consider the prospect of adding him to their team, but he has cleared every other time he's been on waivers this campaign.
Weber has the option to test free agency if he clears waivers, which is something he has done this season. However, he always ended up back with the Yankees, so it seems likely he will accept an outright assignment this time around. In five games this season with the MLB squad, he has a 0-0 record and 0.84 ERA.
