MLB Rumors: Texas Rangers Linked To Catcher

Earlier this week, the Boston Red Sox officially released Kevin Plawecki after he cleared waivers, much to his former teammates' dissatisfaction. Yet, it appears that the 31-year-old may find a new home quickly, as the Texas Rangers are interested in him, according to Robert Murray.

Plawecki appeared in 60 games for the Red Sox this season, where he had one home run, 12 RBIs, and a .217 batting average. Although he struggled at the plate this campaign with Boston, he is well-known for his solid defensive play. With that, he certainly is a bounce-back candidate, as he just had a .287 batting average in 64 games with the Red Sox last year.

We will need to see if Texas ends up signing Plawecki, but with there being confirmed interest, it seems very likely that it will come to fruition.
