Minnesota Twins Pitcher Elects Free Agency

After clearing waivers, Austin Davis has elected to become a free agent instead of accepting an outright assignment by the Minnesota Twins.

Due to the fact that Davis has three years of MLB experience on his resume, he had the option to become a free agent. Ultimately, it is understandable that he has decided to, as he now has the chance of a fresh start. Perhaps there will be another team out there willing to call him up to the majors before the season is over.

Davis began the season with the Red Sox, where he appeared in 50 games for the team. In 52 games combined between the two teams, he has a 2-1 record and 5.79 ERA. Let's see if he will get the chance to improve on these numbers before the season is over.
