Sands has been out since late August due to an elbow injury. The 25-year-old was hit by a line drive against the Houston Astros, which of course is always a scary thing to see. Thankfully, the injury did not end up being too serious, as he is now ready to return for the Twins after only a few weeks.
Sands will now be aiming to improve upon what has been a pretty rough rookie season for him. In nine appearances at the major league level, he has a 0-3 record to go along with a 6.56 ERA. Although these numbers are not the greatest, there is now time for him to improve upon them before the season is officially over. Let's see how he performs now that he is fully healthy.
