Miami Marlins Pitcher Clears Waivers
Although the Miami Marlins placed Jake Fishman on waivers, he will be remaining with the team for the time being. The 27-year-old pitcher has cleared waivers and now has been outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville.
However, that does not automatically mean that Fishman will be sticking around for much longer. He has the option to elect free agency because this is the second time this season that the Marlins optioned him. Thus, if he feels that he can land a better opportunity for more major league time elsewhere, we could see him test his luck on the market.
Fishman looked solid in his two appearances for the Marlins this season, as he recorded a 2.08 ERA. However, it wasn't enough for him to maintain a spot on their major league roster. It will be interesting to see if he accepts the assignment or decides to test his luck as a free agent from here.
