Miami Marlins Designate Pitcher For Assignment
The Miami Marlins have designated Aneurys Zabala for assignment.
Zabala was just called up to the major league squad but now is officially off the team's 40-man roster. That certainly is disappointing for the 25-year-old, as he was hoping to cement himself a spot in the majors for the rest of the year. Now, he is hitting the waiver wire.
Zabala has done well with the Marlins this season when called up, as he has thrown 2.2 scoreless innings in two appearances. Perhaps this will be enough for a team to take a flyer on him. Alas, we will need to keep a look for what happens from here. If he clears waivers, he is eligible to elect free agency, too.
