Mets Place Veteran Pitcher on Injured List
The New York Mets are losing a reliable arm.
The team has placed pitcher Tommy Hunter on the 15-day injured list with lower back tightness.

Unfortunately, this is the same injury that caused Hunter to miss the majority of August, As a result, it wouldn't be surprising if this ailment knocks him out for the rest of the regular season.
Hunter could very well be back for the club in the playoffs, however.

The thirty-six-year-old has posted a strong 2.42 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts over 22 innings. He's made 18 relief appearances for the Mets this season. A veteran of 15 MLB seasons, Hunter has played with the Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets.
