With infielder Eugenio Suarez returning from the injured list, there was just no spot on the club's roster for him anymore.
Trammell leaves behind a .204 batting average with a .295 on-base percentage in 42 games this season in the majors. He's also tacked on four home runs, 10 RBIs and two stolen bases.
In the minors, the twenty-five-year-old has been quite good, slashing .333/.408/.983, with five home runs, 12 RBIs, eight stolen bases and 18 runs scored across 87 at-bats.
It shouldn't be too long before the Mariners call upon his services once more.
