Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Designated For Assignment

The Los Angeles Dodgers are moving on from Heath Hembree, as the veteran reliever has been designated for assignment.

With Hembree being removed from the Dodgers' 40-man roster, he will be placed on waivers. Teams looking for a bit of experience for their bullpen could consider the prospect of claiming him, but he also has struggled this season. In 26 games split between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Dodgers, he has a 3-1 record but also a disastrous 7.36 ERA.

If Hembree clears waivers, he will have the option to elect free agency given his MLB experience. That seems more likely than him accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A at this point of his career.
