Los Angeles Angels Catcher to Retire After Season

While speaking with reporters, Kurt Suzuki announced that he will be retiring after the end of the 2022 season.

Suzuki has had some injury trouble this season with the Angels, so perhaps this is not the most surprising of developments. He has appeared in just 48 games on the year, where he has four home runs, 14 RBIs, and a low .179 batting average. Still, he has been a valuable player to have due to his experience and leadership.

Suzuki's career will end at 16 seasons, and a catcher lasting that long in the league is quite the accomplishment. During his career, he appeared in an All-Star Game and also has a World Series ring on his resume. In 1,632 career games, he has 143 home runs, 729 RBIs, and a .255 batting average.

We here at BaseballRumors.Me want to congratulate Suzuki on a very good career and wish him the best in his future ventures.
