Houston Astros Ace Throws Bullpen Session

Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander threw a bullpen session on Sunday, and he told reporters that he is feeling "great."

Verlander also noted that he is hopeful that he can return to the Astros' rotation next weekend, which would certainly be big for them with the playoffs just around the corner. Houston's a lock to make the playoffs, so they can practice patience with Verlander's return. 

Even at 39 years old, Verlander is having a Cy Young Award-worthy season, and the truth is in his statistics. In 24 appearances on the year, he has a league-leading 16 wins and a league-best 1.84 ERA. Overall, it has been a year to remember for the veteran, and we should see him build on it shortly.
