Giants Select Contract of Outfielder Acquired Thursday; Recall Infielder
The Giants have selected the contract of Lewis Brinson from Triple-A Sacramento.
The Giants acquired Brinson from the Houston Astros on Thursday, as he was most likely going to be removed from the Astros 40-man roster anyways.

Brinson, a former top prospect, will debut with the Giants over the final stretch of the season to see if he's worth keeping around for the 2023 season. However, a career .199/.248/.323 hitter in the majors doesn't suggest that it will bode well for the twenty-eight year old.
In the minors this season, Brinson has been great, batting a .299 average, with 22 home runs, 63 RBIs and five stolen bases over 331 at-bats.
Villar is also enjoying a nice season in the minors, batting a .275 average, with 27 home runs, 82 RBIs and 67 runs scored over 298 at-bats. The twenty-five year old will give the Giants some extra infield depth.
