Detroit Tigers Sign Pitcher
The Detroit Tigers have signed Daniel Ponce de Leon to a minor league contract.
Ponce de Leon has spent time with both the Seattle Mariners and Washington Nationals this season, but he was never called up to either squad before getting released each time. Thus, he will now be aiming to make his season debut for the Tigers, but he will be beginning his journey with the franchise in Triple-A.
Before this season, Ponce de Leon made appearances at the major league level in four straight campaigns with the St. Louis Cardinals. With them, he compiled a 3-8 record and 4.33 ERA in 57 games. Let's see if he gets the chance to improve on these stats with the Tigers before the year is out.
