Detroit Tigers Call Up Pitcher
The Detroit Tigers are switching up their pitching staff, as Joey Wentz has been called up to the major league squad.
Wentz made his first two MLB appearances earlier this season, but things did not go very well for the 24-year-old. In 6.2 innings pitched, he allowed six earned runs, which equates to a rough 8.10 ERA. Although he did not leave the best of a first impression, he is now getting the chance to change that.
Wentz has had a pretty solid season in the minors, so it will be intriguing to see if he can translate it to the Tigers. In 14 appearances on the year, he has a 2-2 record to go along with a 3.04 ERA. With numbers like these, it is clear that he has been reliable, so let's see if that continues with Detroit from here.
