There's a good chance his 2022 season is over.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed starter Ryne Nelson on the 15-day injured list with right scapula inflammation.

The rookie starter had been expected to make a start for the Diamondbacks over the weekend but, instead, he'll head to the injured list.
In his first three starts in the majors, Nelson has been terrific, posting a stellar 1.47 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 18.1 innings. Those starts have not been easy matchups either, as Nelson has pitched against the San Diego Padres twice, and the Los Angeles Dodgers once.

Ryne Nelson is the Diamondbacks' eighth-ranked prospect, and before being promoted he had posted an underwhelming 5.43 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 128 strikeouts over 136 innings in the minors. He had started 26 games and held a 10-5 record. Photo Credit: Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
