Cleveland Guardians Option Pitcher To Triple-A

The Cleveland Guardians have optioned Konnor Pilkington to Triple-A Columbus.

Pilkington has made his first 14 MLB appearances for the Guardians this campaign, where he has a 1-2 record and 4.30 ERA. Overall, he hasn't been terrible, but he also has had some struggles. Thus, with the Guardians trying to cement themselves in a playoff spot, it makes sense that they are looking to make some changes to the pitching staff.

Luckily for Pilkington, he remains on their 40-man roster, so that helps his chances of receiving another call-up before the season is over. Honestly, given how often injuries occur at this stage of the campaign, it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in the bigs shortly.
