Cincinnati Reds Designate Outfielder For Assignment
The Cincinnati Reds have designated Albert Almora Jr. for assignment.
Almora Jr. has appeared in 64 games for the Reds this season, where he has five home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .223 batting average. When looking at these numbers, it is clear that he has had some trouble at the plate, so perhaps his removal from the club's 40-man roster could have been predicted.
Given this development, Almora Jr. will now be hitting the waiver wire at some point this week. Teams looking for some outfield could decide to take a chance on him, as he is a 600-game veteran. Let's see where he ends up from here.
